About Florida Project Builders

Meet John A. Holmes Sr.

From school and commercial projects to Jacksonville homebuilding, John brings construction and development experience to the way Florida Project Builders plans and manages residential work.

John's perspective

From Pricing and Planning to Construction and Closeout

John's background spans homes, schools, restaurants, bank locations and commercial construction. His experience includes pricing the work, selecting contractors and subcontractors, coordinating with owners, architects and engineers, managing construction, and following the work through inspections and closeout.

That perspective shapes Florida Project Builders. A homeowner may begin with a driveway, an addition, a remodel or a larger construction goal. John's job is to help identify the real scope, connect the decisions and keep the project moving through one accountable point of contact.

The examples below reflect John's work through Greater Bay Construction, Guava Trust and other organizations, not projects completed under the Florida Project Builders name.

Guava Trust co-founder

Building Homes With Guava Trust

John is a co-founder of Guava Trust, which has built 25 homes for low-income households in the Jacksonville area and continues that work.

  • Property and planning. Selecting and acquiring lots and coordinating with the architect.
  • Construction and coordination. Managing construction and subcontractors, working with inspectors and coordinating completion of right-of-way permit requirements.
  • Closeout and sale. Carrying the project through closeout and sale of the finished home.

That involvement gives John a practical view of how early property decisions affect the construction that follows.
